I've learned a lot more than I ever had (or ever could, for that matter) about Bryston both the "brand" and what it stands for as well as the gear.

oh boy!

1. People still easily buy into snake oil products.
2. Emotions often overule logic.
3. A/B Blind Testing only is correct when it goes 'your' way... :D
4. There are more adjectives used to describe how things make your system sound than there are words in the dictionary.
5. Vinyl is still 'alive and well'
6. CDs are still with us.
7. You dont have to spend megabucks to get decent sound.
8. Snobs still exist in this hobby.
9. Hi-Rez is a great way to make more bucks on old stuff!!
10. Home Depot sells oxygen free copper wire....

All kidding aside...I have learned that there are many really nice people in these circles that go out of there way to be nice and helpful. I really appreciate the knowledge and experience that so many of you have provided from great music selections to how to hook up stuff and make it work.

All the best
Alex

That passion can co-exist with generosity and knowledge.  This site embodies all three words....

Well this is a fair question. Here is what I have learned.

1. Audiophiles or wannabe audiophiles will pay or want to pay ridiculous amounts of cash for ornate boxes with wires inside of them.
2. Many, not all, of these boxes of wires have a pleasant sound. Sometimes it is hard to discover this, so people that visit audiocircle help each other with experiments.
3. The ones who make the boxes of wires often exaggerate the quality of the sonics which the boxes produces.
4. The ones who buy the boxes of wires often exaggerate the quality of the sonics the boxes they own produce.
5. There is always a BETTER SOUNDING box of wires.

Buy hey, it's a fun hobby and might be less ridiculous than golf.

Trying to hit a small hard white ball with a stick long distances eventually allowing it to fall into a small hole in the ground.

Have not really learned much other than technical info and new music. However made some new friends and have had some good conversations. Well maybe I did afterall. It is that there are so many small manf's that make some really great gear.
What has been reinforced is that "one size does not fit all" is very true. The main reason for opening my business Swap Meet Audio. Having an opportunity to hear the piece in your home before buying.
So thank you AC for making me take the plunge. A special thanks to John R for making this site the way it is. Bravo .

1. Bass is not just some kind of fish, or tree
2. Tweeter is not the special kind of bird that only exist in comic books
3. Now i know 'TREBLE' is not someone's name that's been amusingly spelled backwards.
