Beck rocks.  :thumb:

If you ever hear of Beck doing Saturday Night, tune in. He always does a great job there.
Other than that, how about Loser off of Mellow Gold? Love the lyrics, the beat, the foreign language thing, all of it. Beck innovates. And Rocks.

Have fun,

Jerry

The first time I heard him was "Odelay" which I bought on a whim. Every cut was so unique and fresh sounding to me and by the time I heard him he had 4 or 5 albums out already, I just buy everything I see with his name on it now. Personally I think he's a genius, one of kind talent, can do it all, and do it bringing all of the best parts of todays music and then building upon that to really open up a new sound of his own.....its awesome stuff. :thumb:

 Fo shizzle on Beck.

Guero is my obsession right now.

I saw hime at the Georgia Theater and he had a live puppet show mimicking the band with a video screen of the band behind the puppet show. Three different medias of the same thing. A creative mind bender and a assault on the senses.

Anyone enjoy the Saturday Night Live appearance where his band performed while sitting around a dinner table with the only instruments being the plate settings?

Yeah, they did the dinner thing when we saw them at House of Blues here in Cleveland.  The Bonarroo show was with the puppets.

Check out Guero in 5.1,  seriously amazing.

I hope his next album delivers, I really hated the Information but grew to like it ok. Modern Guilt is fine but seems to lack an energy of his earlier albums.

I saw the "diner show" in a small studio in Toronto a few years back.
It was one if the best live performances I have ever seen !!!!

"We dance alone" and "cell phones dead" were absolutly incredible !!!

One of those artists whose new albums  always has me scratching my head for a while.  And most of the time, it grows on me until I end up loving it.

I went to a friends who has a huge room(19X32)an introduced me to an intimate Beck concert.
The concert was on a Bluray disc dts-HD,Live at Ronnie Scott's(2008-09).

I gotta say it was like being there,Beck and other musicians were superb.
The recording was superbly done.
My friend was using all Mc gear,1000w monos ect,Velodyne 1812 subs X2.
If your into Bluray concerts, and  you have the gear and room to simulate a live venue, this is a keeper.
Quite emotional in the right space ect.

Yes, definitely wrong Beck.  ;)   Jeff Beck vs Beck (Hansen is his last name but never used).

Hey, I'm 57!!  Never too old to find Beck a breath of fresh air.

Yes! I was definitely scratching my head after buying Midnight Vultures, but it is definitely one of my favorites now.

Sea Change on SACD is a top-tier demonstration disk, and a definitive answer to the question, Can a Scientologist have soul? HP rightly put this straight into his Super Disk list. It’s a master class in what a modern pop recording can accomplish in clarity and complexity and levels of composition. The stuff going on with the string arrangements (by Beck’s father, David Campbel) and all kinds of low-level synth/ambient noise are pure hi-fi brilliance, along with the gynormous cavernous soundstage framing 3D instrumentation, everything working to sustain a luxe downbeat vibe amid a lot of euphonious folkie moping over lost love.

This album has operated as a successful gateway drug for several young’uns I’d been trying to lure into embracing quality audio gear. They have the album on MP3 or whatever and think they’ve heard it, and then they sit in the sweet spot and listen to the Direct Stream Digital cranked up on a Sony DVP-S9000ES and have a little psychedelic epiphany. It really does the trick and no laws are broken.

Very funny.  Again folks, this is Beck, not Jeff Beck.
