Hi es347, do you know if this is the only thing that has changed in comparison to the original Anni?

Yep that's it.  Probably pretty cool for first timers but not worth upgrading to.

Hello Fellow Audiophiles:

The new VR-5 Anniversary Mk2 has Teflon and copper foil bypass caps on the midrange and treble circuits as well as the Delphi single crystal copper cast wire. These two small tweaks add more air, detail, and clarity to the mids and highs. The value of this upgrade depends on whether or not you wish to increase the overall resolution of your stereo system. If you own very expensive system and feel the VR-5 Anniversary could have more transient "snap," this upgrade would be perfect for your system!

Best regards,
Albert Von Schweikert

Hi Henry..

Repeat after me...."I must resist"...."I must resist"   To answer your question, no.  I don't think Albert has announced the cost to upgrade.  Call him at your peril.

It's so hard!! I'm getting that "itch" for somethig new. havn't brought anything in two years. After the holidays, I'm going to look at speaker cable. Do you or anyone have any suggestions? Right now I'm using Analysis Plus Oval 8's.

Hi Henry,

I'm using VR5-Anniversary speakers and am also itching to upgrade to get the benefits of having Masterbuilt cabling for internal wiring.  Since you asked for suggestions, you might want to review the attached thread I started, "VSA Masterbuilt cables evaluation", where I posted my impressions after installing them in my system.  Having first hand experience with hearing the improvements that the Masterbuilt cabling provides on the outside of the speakers, I wouldn't be surprised that the impact with using it inside the speakers may be substantial.

+1 on the Masterbuilt Signatures. BTW I used AP Oval 8s for a long time when I still had GenIIIs and SR Mk.1s

They take a long time to burn in. I suggest you request that VSA cook 'em first :)

I have bought the RMAF VR5MKII and they sound amazing in my system.......
I had only heard the VR5 SE versiosn here in Canada, but the VR5MKII are better....but then my overall system is probably much better in turn then the demo at the store.

I am so happy that I was able to get the RMAF VR5 MKIIs....to bad I was not able to attend the show myself, but maybe next time...

Trying the masterbuilt cable would be a dream that one day will also come true.

PS .......go for the upgrade its well worth the effort
