Yes, indeed ! - I can see the grooves ...  :) ...

... but in both cases you need a quality control for the formulation and the pressing.

The headshell on the Dual is adjusted (I believe) to be perfect for the third record in a stack of up to six. If you use the TT for one record at a time, they made an adjustable headshell with a little twist knobby to get the VTA correct. Otherwise, if it is the headshell that often came with the TT, it is "wrong" for all singly-played records. I think the knob had M for multi and S for single or something.

Hi Paul,
The 1219 is a little fancy on this front.
Activating the Multi Play (MP) lever not only engages the stacking mechanism, it also lifts the whole arm pillar to parallel align the arm tube roughly with three discs.
My VTA is set for normal (Single) play.
Here's a couple of pics.

Stacking the records is very retro and I appreciate the photo. Hopefully this was just a photo op and not the way you normally play records! After all, your other TT is a Linn!

Yep! This ain't part of my vinyl spinning ritual - thought the thread was worthy of some Old Skool  :)

BTW, the base is really cool with the silver band. Can you post a closeup of the hinges?

Paul

Thanks - This base is an original Dual CK 20 item for the 1219. It's in pretty tasty condition too.
Actually the only hinges are on the front cover

The dustcover has an extended rear edge that sits in a slot at the rear of the base.
Simply rocks back and balances in an upright position - a little precarious, but it works.
I don't tend to leave it in the upright position unless changing a disc.

Cheers
Dave
