Configuring ASJO4ALL 2.10
« on: 13 Sep 2011, 09:23 am »
I finally got ASIO to work in JRiver MC16 by installing the ASIO4ALL plug in and now this little green arrow comes up in hidden icons section of the task bar. It may be my imagination but ASIO sounds better than kernel streaming or WASAPI. Clicking on the green icon brings up a window that gives me some configuration options for ASIO and I'd like to know what to change or leave.

At the moment default appears to be:

Latency compensation 32 samples IN and 32 samples OUT

Hardware buffer (when ticked) gives a buffer offset of 10ms but nonticked which is default has kernel buffers 2. I can slide this up to 4

Always resample 44.1<->48khz is ticked.   Is resampling a good idea?

Force WDM to 16 bit is not ticked  - does this mean I am already running in 16 bit mode?

Finally ASIO buffer size is 512 samples

I am using the E7/E9 as a DAC amp

So do I change anything or leave all as it is? BTW, ASIO was the top choice from the JRiver website as the preferred method of direct digital streaming and based on my ears I can understand why.
