Led for Piccolo
« on: 9 Sep 2011, 05:20 pm »
I am building a regulated PS for my tuned "a la tubesforever" PICCOLO and this means fitting it into a larger case. I would like to fit a rather sexy looking anti-vandal recessed Bulgin MP-1002 Blue Led switch/ indicator on the front and would like use it as an indicator only and  feed it direct from the Piccolo board. The recommended LED for the Piccolo works with 3.5v but the Bulgin beauty data sheet mentions 24v max and 3.5 forward voltage. I admit to not having a clue - will the Bulgin light up as its stands ?

Well, it would seem the 24v refers to the switch mechanism which I won´t be using and that 3.5v will be OK for the LED so it looks like being a straight swap. Hope so.

Yes, you are right! The LED part uses 3.5V forward voltage with up to 20mA current.
