Ultra Fi miniplat2 - promotion at $275
« on: 9 Sep 2011, 03:01 pm »
I'd like to take this opportunity to announce the Ultra Fi miniplat2 to AudioCircle members.  It just received a really nice review over on Audiogon, which my be found here:

The minplat2 is only applicable to the 2010-2011 Apple Mac mini; but, I thought there might be some interest here.

It is currently being promoted at $275, a savings of $100 off the retail price.

Thanks for your attention,

I just saw this posting and wanted to make a comment on it.

I got one of these miniplats and found it to be quite remarkable.

Why it works, I have no idea, but it has really made a difference in my system that uses a 2010 MacMini.

I was so impressed by it that I just wrote a review in Audiogon in the tweaks section.

IMHO, you have to try it to really appreciate its effect. Again, why its effects are so much to the upside, I have no idea, but my computer DAC based system is much better for it.  It makes my MacMini look even more cool, but that is beside the audio point.

:) listening

I was just about to log off when I saw that you had replied to my post.

Basically, it's a proprietary mounting base that replaces the "footing" of the stock 2010/2011 MacMini.

Why this changes things on a system that has a musical and resolving DAC I have no idea, but it has made a big difference in the dynamics of my computer audio system. It sort of defies credibility when considered in the abstract, but when mounted correctly and properly weighted it has made quite a difference in the playback experience in my system.
