Too low of a buffer length setting can cause glitches, stuttering, etc. but doesn't normally completely stop playback, but you could try 2000ms and see if that makes any difference.
It may be another software program or process kicking in is causing it to stop, perhaps a particular screensaver or even an anti-virus program?
I have foobar, but only rev it up as a cross check if I'm having problems playing a particular file or something. I never cared too much for the interface and prefer to use
