Best video connection device
« on: 2 Sep 2011, 06:13 pm »
Anyone know the best video connection device for Macbook Air to TV. USB to HDMI. I'd like 1080p even bluray if I can do it.

Thank you

Wired or wireless? You could use a MDP to HDMI cable to play stuff on your TV if you have a newer macbook air. If you want to stream video to your TV while sitting on the couch with the Macbook air, the easiest is an Apple TV but it only can go to 720P. Most other media streamers and some Blu-ray players should work via DLNA.

I want to try watching a 1080p or bluray through the macbook air 10.6...(Snow Leopard) and listening to the movie through my DAC. I always feel better about wire instead of wireless. I'll look into DLNA and MDP. Thanks

If I just record a movie on my Mac and use a USB to HDMI converter and also hook up my DAC through the other USB Mac connection would that work, with whatever formate the video is in (maybe not bluray).

Using USB for both would be difficult if they are on the same USB bus.

This would work with your mini-display port, then you could use USB to your DAC.
