Thanks all,  I guess you could call them an eBay special.  I bought the cable, the techflex and the banana plugs from eBay.  The cable was an 11 ft. piece of CANARE 4S11 Star Quad Speaker Cable. I bought the heat shrink from Fry's.  It's amazing how a little techflex and some heat shrink can change the way a gray cable looks. Total cost to make two 5 1/2 ft. cables was around $30 and I have a lot of heat shrink left and enough techflex left to do a couple of short cables.  They may not be the best, but it sure was fun creating them.
