Just wondering if anyone has heard or compared cables from either of these manufacturers. Both have received great reviews lately. I am starting to wonder if my bottom of the line Analysis Plus cables are the weak link in my system. Through all the equipment swapping I have done, the cables have always stayed the same. My setup is now as follows:
Mcintosh MA6500 Integrated
Ah Tjoeb 4000 CD Player
Usher CP-730 Speakers
Analysis Plus Oval 12 Speaker Cable and Oval One Interconnects

My system has always sounded a little zippy and sibilant up top and a little shy in the bass and I am hoping a cable swap can help remedy this.

I have both Eichmann eXpress 6 and PS Audio eXtream Statement interconnects in my system (Denon 2900, Krell KAV-400xi integrated and Rocket RS750 Sig's) and found them both to be really good. The Eichmann's about 6 months old and the Statement is only a week old. But, there's a difference. The Eichmann has a little wider soundstage (with my gear and in my room) than Statement,  and Statements, although not fully broken-in yet, has a higher resolution in a upper medium and high freq. range. Also, they have a higher ceiling of a sound field, if I can say that (I'm not sure if I'm using this terminology correct). What I mean is with Eichmanns sound fills my room up to 1/2 of the room's height, and PS Audio Statements fill it up to 3/4 and even higher.

Since my Krell is very revealing, there are some recordings that I prefer listening with Eichmanns (when there's a lot of high freq. info) and some with Statements.

Please, remember that these are the impressions I got in my room with my gear, but you can't go wrong with either of them, especially that PS Audio cables are 50% off right now.

Good luck and happy listening.

Thanks, Tyrro, that's just the information I was looking for. Now if I could just find the PS Audio speaker cables for half off, I would be all set!

I see the interconnects, but not speaker cables!

Tyrro,

are your Eichmann eXpress6 ICs Series2 or the original version? Rob Woodland of Eichmann had mentioned that the Series 2 cables are improved over the originals.

Mine are Series 1.
As for the speaker cables, they are not on sale I guess :(

BTW, I saw B Stock 2.5M PS Audio xStream Plus Speaker Cable for $360 on www.audioadvisor.com

if you select a ps audio cable it will show the 40% rebate. Still pricey!

Forty percent rebate at all PSAudio dealers and at PSaudio.com. You have to send your cables in. This is the speaker cable deal. I haven't bought them but am happy with the half price statement interconnects. You can always send the stuff back: 30 day MBG. Forty percent is still pricey but definitely better than full price. I haven't done it yet...

The Usher CP-730's have excellent bass response when set up correctly.
My first question with bass shy systems is: what are the listening room characteristics?  The room configuration will probably have more to do with your perceived bass response than the cables you are using.   Also, speaker placement will play a major role....especially with ported speakers....
