Is there a story to go along with these images?

I am trying to find a story to go along with the Google Earth snapshot and the photo taken of the ring. It's important history and I'd love to know more. So far, nobody knows much about this thing. I have gathered it was built around 1946 to 1950. My estimate is that it's an early Circlotron.

Any Circlotron experts out there?

Circlotron is an amplifier topology. The Google pic says eye is at 3676ft, so it's not a mile across, also the individual trees would be too big for a scale of 1 mile circle.

43°14'34.43" N  75°29'32.88" W

Those are the coordinates in G.E.

Using the ruler tool, I found that it has a .3 mile diameter.

You're right- I misspelled it. I meant to say Cyclotron:

Some history from the same era:

BTW: This (Rome unit) was built close by some old railroad tracks that may have been used in the 40's & 50's. That would come in handy for hauling magnets to the site.

Note: The use/purpose of this structure is mostly speculation so far.
