N3 driver depth
« on: 23 Aug 2011, 10:32 pm »
I looked on the website and couldn't find it, does anyone know the mounting depth of the N3 drivers?

Thanks!

Scott

Not the rebate amount but the depth from the bottom part of the mounting lip of the driver to the back of the magnet. Probably 3-4" or so is my guess.

Sweet thanks Ruben. That's really shallow! I really expected them to be much deeper.

The driver itself is not very deep. Most of that depth is in the deep back cup.

Danny, what's the mounting depth for the deep back up/tweet? I'm kicking around building a very thin and wide N3S for a center to mount below my TV. We moved into a townhouse and the layout leaves MUCH to be desired.

The cup itself is only 2 and 1/4".

Keep in mind also that the N3S (sealed box) is going to like more depth verses width (or in this case height).  A shallow depth will really effect the woofers response.

Hmm ... I only have about 7 to 1-1/2" in height below the TV and 5" or so in depth. I was just going to widen the cabinet to keep the internal dimensions the same. Would this make it too wide?
