Due to the location of my home network related equipment, direct connection of the BDP-1 to the router is not an option. Along with many other options, it has been suggested that the direct connection to a range extender would work.

I have been searching and can not find confirmation of this. Could anyone verify?

Phil: I have a Netgear wireless router in my computer room, which is too far for a direct ethernet connection. A range extender, with ethernet ports, seems like the obvious solution, but I have seen some very complicated suggestions, which have left me wondering if I am missing something.

I use the Netgear Power Line Adapter connected to my wireless router. My audio setup is in a completely different room than the router and te Netgear adapter works off the house's electric circuit. I have experienced absolutely no problems or sound degredation with this set up.

Powerline seems to be an easy way to go but if want wireless from the Bryston then I'd look into taking an old (or new) router and turning it into a Wireless bridge by flashing the firmware with DD-WRT or Tomato. There are good instructions for doing this on the web and youtube.

My wireless router is also too far from my BDP-1 for a direct connect. I use a Netgear WNCE2001 ($59.99 at Best Buy). Very straight-forward setup and works great. No issues with the BDP-1 and Mpod/Mpad, Google Chrome, or access to the attached drives over my wireless network. I did have to upgrade my security level to WPA/WPA2 to get the WNCE2001 playing nicely with my 2Wire 2701HG-G router.

  I do get wireless connection with the BDP using the power line adapter. The only wired connection is Ethernet from the BDP to the adapter.  You would have to wire the BDP to a dedicated router anyway.

I picked up one of these last night. My BDP-1 is not in yet, so I tried it out on my Transporter. Set up is simple, and it works like a charm!
