James

Will the BHA-1 chassis be shorter in depth than the BDA-1 (looks like it in pic in article)

That's the first prototype and the chassis will be the same as the BDP-1 and BP26 etc.

Mmm, that's quite large for a head-amp.

James, ever considered adding a pair of needle VU meter on the face-plate? With dim, handsome yellow back-lit.  :cyclops: oh~~ the needles..

Hi James,

Great insight, as you are aware I'm reasonably new to the retail side of the Hi FI business, so far I've done a Meridian and Naim factory tour, today I had a quick look round PMC's factory, what are the chances of a Bryston factory tour if I get the boss to pay for the flight, obviously that would be the crowning jewel of factory tours

Every assembled product is put on the "burn-in bench" and subjected to a stress test in order to weed out early component failure. Every amplifier has capacitors attached to its output terminals and is burned in with a 3kHz square wave at just under full power for one hour on and then one hour off for a period of four days. According to Bryston's James Tanner, early component failure usually happens within the first 100 hours of use.

I hope Zybar reads this...remember the break-in that I suggested?

Loved the tour. The most amazing picture is of Stuart Taylor of ST, SST, and SST Squared fame.

I simply couldn't believe that Bryston has him sitting at a bench, looking like - well - an ordinary human being.

Given that his initials are attached to so many great amps, I would have expected to see him in a more celestial setting - sitting among the clouds surrounded by angels, some blowing heavenly trumpets, others singing eternal praises.

What a great let-down. Gods deserve better!
