John, that should not be...I use my cables on my VPI 10.5 tonearm without issue...cable.Tuan
I'm using a Vista phono preamp and using Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 interconnects. I'm very happy with this combination.
using Tuan's cable as well, couldn't be happier. Then again I live in the sticks here in 'Pennsyltucky' !also given the Op's Grado choice, ther's always a concern for 'hum' , correct ???...........
It depends on output. .5 or 5 mv.Wayner
Wayner, well, this is Tuan, I live in Oakland, across the bay from San Francisco, I have T-mobile towers amongst other radio and cell towers three stories up above my loft...I use a Shelter 901 with a .5mv output, no ho hum or buzz or anything in my system...I really think for me, it's not the RF or EMI, it's really something to do with system grounding. I've never picked up a radio station like I did when I used Anticables at one point...Tuan
So High Output carts are more likely to hum than Low Output ones?
I'm using my own cables made from RG-6 and gold plated RCA compression fittings. The cable is foil and braid with a 18awg center, solid conductor. 50pf capacitance for a 1 meter cable (rivals Bluejeans).Wayner
Concerned with possible hum issues. Please weigh in on what interconnect you're using, what you like about it and any recommendations you'd like to make for me.
Hi.Given proper grounding TT to phono-preamp & grounding phono-cable to phono-preamp, hum should not occur.FYI, I DIY built mine with NO, repeat no shiedling at all. There is no hum whatever volume I crank up.c-J
