I am looking for input on how to use my (home) outboard usb hard drive iTunes music library with my work pc Windows based OS?  I took an old (PC)150 GB usb outboard drive I had collecting dust, scrubbed it clean, formatted it for use with Apple OS and put some of my iTunes music library on it to take to use at my office (all MS Windows XP based pcs).  After plugging the 150GB USB HD in at work, it quickly became obvious it would not read/reckognize the Apple formatted drive. 

Is there a work around process, or format set up I need to perform so the hard drive library is useable on both OS's ?

Ken,

  The drive will need to be formatted with FAT32 for both Windows and OSX to see it.

Excellent, thanks Darrell.  I'll get in touch with you guys in another week or so to walk through my current set up.  I just got the dCS Debussy DAC and want to double check I've got it all optimized.
