Sherwood S3000-V Service Manual needed
« on: 16 Aug 2011, 12:47 am »
Would anyone have a copy (or know where I can get one) for a Sherwood S3000-V?
I've now totally lost my mind and own an S3000-III, IV and now a V.

The V sounds okay but could use an alignment and a going over.

While not all that relevant, I had a Sherwood piece once. It was from the age when (apparently) nobody was sure if stereo was really going to take off. This one was an integrated amp that had a stereo preamp (I don't remember if it included an FM tuner), and just one channel of power amplification. If you wanted stereo, you needed to connect an external power amp for the other channel. A bit of an odd duck, I loved it for the craziness of it but couldn't make any practical use of it.

i may have a copy; i need to check.  also, what's the serial number - there were so many running changes w/these tunas, that there may be a different manual for different serial number.  if i cannot find a copy, post to the yahoo fmtuner info site, someone may have one over there.

Thanks on all counts.

Speaking of all things Sherwood, how were their old tube receivers?  This is starting to become a sickness, ha, ha.
I forgot to mention my S2300-II, I think it is?  It doesn't count yet, the FM section is dead so it's more of an art deco conversation piece as in what the hell is that old thing?
I'm never sure if they are referring to me or the tuner.
