For sale is a home-brew PP 6EM7 built by Tom McNally. Here is what he had to say about it when he posted the amp on his site:
"The 6EM7 is a unique old TV tube with an input section similar to
a 6SL7 and an output section similar to a 2A3. This circuit was
designed by Shannon Parks and uses an LM-234Z constant current source."
I have to say that this Push-Pull triode 6EM7 8watt/channel amp definitely exhibits that triode sweetness and high-calorie immediacy which we love them for. More so, in fact, than my Gary Kaufman designed SET DirectCoupled 6EM7 amp(soon to be sold). This amplifier has all Hammond iron and is built on a Hammond 8" x 12" chassis. Very compact. Output transformers are 10 watt Hammond 1608's. Power transformer is Hammond 270EX. Tube sockets are ceramic. Nichicon and Solen caps. Single input with volume control. 4 ohm and 8 ohm taps. Can also be connected for 16 ohm. Bottom cover is included, removed for pics.
Included are 4 NOS RCA coin base 6EM7 tubes and 1 J/J GZ34 rectifier. This amp was recently gone over by my technician and given a clean bill of health.
