Shindo Auregies - L as new
« on: 11 Aug 2011, 01:23 pm »
I regretted selling my Auregies to Wilysnet a couple months ago and ended up buying this one again at a higher price two weeks ago.

I like it, I love it, I want to keep it, but I need the cash for personal matters.

This comes with the original packaging as well as the grey Shindo power cord.

$2300 + shipping

Local cash and carry sales (11788) will be given priority.

Sorry to hear about this Gopher...I hope you'll get a chance to come back!

Fellas this is a great preamp, I have the Monbrison and can tell you that Shindo pre's are really something special. They don't come up for sale often and I see it just posted on Audiogon so I'm pretty sure it will sell fast. Each piece is point to point wired by hand with hand wound transformers and uses the best vintage parts & tubes. There are no circuit boards, no transistors, no gimmicks, just a lot of love and a lifetime of experience.

Whoever gets this will be extremely happy and out of experience I would suggest considering a Shindo amp to really get the synergy going.

Thanks adhesiv, but personal matters aren't always negative--I am saving towards a down payment on a potential new home :)

In any event, this pre is SOLD!

Congrats on the quick sale Fred. Whenever one of these comes up for sale, I have to hold myself back and remind myself of my need for a remote ("dog on lap factor" I call it). Replacing it with a less expensive pre or just running the Torii as an integrated?

 :duh:

Well in that case...I wish you all the luck on the house purchase, good time to buy if you take advantage of the right opportunity...and I still hope you get a chance to experience Shindo again!  :thumb:

I knew this would sell fast!

roscoeiii...not to stir the pot buuuuuuttt...you can always get a little of both...the purists might not agree but if you do any type of digital music storage/streaming such as through a Transporter, Touch, Sonos or other similar type source you can use the digital attenuation on those devices to a certain level without any sonic degradation.

I usually fix the volume on my Transporter at 100% but in a pinch I can remotely lower the volume up to about 50% before the attenuation starts any type of bit destruction. Most of the time though I just set the volume on my pre and it stays in that position until I'm done listening  :green: I know of another Aurieges for sale...just saying...   :icon_twisted:

Oh adhesiv,

Mighty tempting. I had given that some thought. But for now I sit tight with the Musical Fidelity kW. One day I will have to A/B it with a Shindo. But it is now the longest lived component in the rack...

The Shindo is very, very, good.  Its not a great match with my Torii, but it was jaw dropping with my 845 SETs and with Berto's F2a monos.  Its still pretty good with the Torii, but loses a little transparency and shrinks the stage.  What it gains is amazing tonal colors and further harmonic development.

Nothings perfect, but I'm happily listening with it in place until my buyer's check arrives.

I'll be using a much cheaper pre--a Dodd buffer.  Its not perfect, but its very good for the money and gives me a remote.  This will have to hold me over for now (and ideally the forseable future as it is good).  Keep an eye out for my phono rig.  I'll be downsizing that as well shortly.  Well Tempered Ref/Jasmine LP2.0SE deal coming up...
