Yes and no.
Well,if you ask me I would say yes but ask stereophile then that is a different story. This post reminds me the back issue of stereophile when they rated 14Bsst in class A and 7Bsst as class B and yet I don,t understand what really this rates are for.I would describe this two amps in one line.
The best solution to drive the most floorstanding speakers is available by Bryston. The 14Bsst as stereo or 7Bsst as mono.
Also,I do not know if they reviewed both amps in same room with same speakers at same time or not.It is crazy if you think about it.

The 14B is a mono amp on a single chassis. Not a true mono though as its fed with one power cord. The 4b is a mono amp too.

 The 14b is a stereo amp (2 7b's in one chassis) and the 4b is stereo but can be bridged to mono.

I am not sure what you are asking?

Ok, let me rephrase that; why did you choose the 14B over the 7Bs?

Ok, let me rephrase that; why did you choose the 14B over the 7Bs?

I wanted to put the amp on my rack close to my torus or walloutlet. I wouldn't buy 7B's unless i could put them right at each speaker. I don't have a dedicated listening room so those amps would be in the way at each speaker. If I  was going to drive bigger speakers i probably wouldve, but my AZ's are only 150 watts so i think the difference between the 7Bs and 14Bs wouldn't justify the aggravation of making monos work.

Coming off a 4B i have short signal and long speakers cables. So i was ready to go. If I went with 7B's i would need another power cord, and long signal and short speaker cable.

Werd,I agree with you and I think the aggravation was the only reason that Bryston came up with 14B but I still do not understand that why you are saing that the 14B is mono unless you mean a pair mono in one box.
