I just got my b60 dac back from Bryston and have to say the sound is unreal .It starts with a marantz 67se that has been dampened and it sits on 3 cones of some kind, single cable to the b60 and then off to the 4bsst for speakers i use psb siveri`s and a sub7,anyhow lots more music coming through the pipe with the dac upgrade.

Why are you using a B60DA rather than an SP25DA if the output's going to an exteral power amp?

First off nice Bagpuss pic,the way it started was i was using the b60 as is to drive PSB silverI speakers, all was welluntill i biamped with an old adcom ga555 and found it had alot more punch, then i changed to an old 4b(1985) and it was even better.I now have the new 4bsst but i do not biamp i just use the b60 as the preamp and a marantz cd67se as a transport it really does sound great.I also added the PSB sub7 and that has also added to the bottom end. cheers from canada   cliffe

I share your appreciation of the B60da, recently had my amp upgraded and for this old vinyl junkie it has given me a new appreciation for digital music. I'm using an old Rotel ( 965 ) player and a modest Sony DVD player, both sound great.

I would be interest to know what further improvements one might see with a better quality transport, perhaps James Tanner could comment on this matter.

If the jitter removal stage in the B60DA is doing its job properly, then virtually no improvement at all. The only real advantage to a high-end transport is lower jitter on the output. Even a very cheap system can usually read 1s and 0s off the disc correctly and send 1s and 0s without errors: the only difference is in the timing.
