Up for sale are my Vaughn Zinfandels. These very efficient speakers garner many great reviews. Here is a quote for The Absolute Sound (February 2011 issue) Two high efficiency speaker designs in particular caught my ear at RMAF.... The second was the gorgeous Vaughn Zinfandel ($6495) tower-type speaker whose core driver is a quasi full range Fostex unit. But designer Jim Vaughn has carefully augemented the Fostex with a rear firing 8" passive radiator, a 5" ribbon tweeter, a side firing 12" woofer, and a side firing 12" passive radiator. Vaughn uses these supplemental drive units to overcome two of the main problems that limit most single driver full-range designs: bass that does not go low enough with adequate authority, and upper mids and highs that can be somewhat beamy and a bit brash. All in all, this is a brilliantly balanced speaker that sings effortlessly with high quality low powered tube amps."
I am only selling as I am moving to tri amp active speakers. They are about 6 mos old. I would rate them 7 out of 10 on the Agon scale as there is a bit of a bubble under the carbon fiber on the left front speaker. I will try to capture it in a better photo later.
I do have original un-used boxes (manufacurer is local) and can ship at buyer's expense. Prefer local sale (SF Bay Area).
