What's your thoughts on the Spotify music service?  https://www.spotify.com

I signed up for the premium version a couple days ago and have been fairly impressed.  320kbps streaming as well.

 Woops, I missed this one.
Spotify is FREAKIN AMAZING !!!!!!!! :thumb:
I have been listening for a few months, and I am blown away with the content of this site. I listened to  Radiohead that I didn't know exsisted. There is a ton of great material that I have never heard including colllector edition albums with demo cuts, live shows, acoustic versionn, etc.
I can't imagine any audiophile, or non audiophile, not being excited about the amount of "free" music being offered.
Ok, its not really free as comercials stream in every 5 songs or so. Signing up is free. I think its about 10 or 12 bucks a month for commercial free streaming. I have not really looked into all the payment options and services yet. I believe you can listen through I Phone or an I Pad. I love the idea of plugging a phone into the car radio to stream hundreds of thousands of hours of music . WoW!!  I will be plugging this into my main rig as well.
Type in The Grateful Dead and hundreds or thousands of hours worth music is at your finger tips. Tons of shows!!! :thumb: Hate the Dead with a passion? Try Miles Davis. A huge catalog from thses two artists.
Listen to thousands of bands/artists before you buy. Again Wow !! See what friends are listening to, and have suggested artist  at the top of the page.
This is first music site  that i have been really excited about, and willing to shell out a monthly fee for it.
Is the sound quality better than a normal mp3's?
Any other fans of Spotify? Check it out!

I like it.  It is better than regular Pandora.  they play the music you like, not music that they think sounds like music you like.  you might want to check out GrooveShark.  It is a lot like Spotify without some much Facebook.

I've been checking Spotify and Rdio, along with Pandora. After doing some research on the web, and reading an article on Popular Mechanics from a couple month ago, I found out as far as the streaming quality of audio, Rdio wins by playing CD quality at 1411 instead of Spotify at 256. Has anyone one tried Rdio? Am I way off base here? I just hear a better quality thru the stereo at home on my desktop speakers when I play Rdio.  I would be interested to know what other's think. I've been a paid subscriber to both, and recently gave up on Spotify. I've been pretty happy thru Rdio. Especially the mobile app on my iphone thru my stereo (USB ipod directly) in my car sounds amazing thru my Kenwood 10" subwoofer.

Now if there was a way where I can stream directly Rdio from my desktop to my Apple Airport Express, that would be amazing. The only way I can do this right now is thru my iphone using Airplay. But sometimes, I need my phone for work, and can't use it for streaming music when I'm working from home talking on the phone. :-) :-)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

As far as I know, Rdio does not specify what their streaming bitrate is.

As to getting it to your Airport Express, Airfoil is the cat's meow.

To date I believe MOG is the only service streaming CD quality at 320kps. I left Spotify when I tried it out.  Try it and I think you will be impressed. I stream to my Touch and control with my IPad. No limit on the number of files downloaded to your devices and 100% CD quality across the board. I just checked and I have nearly 11,000 in my 31 playlists.
Amazing some of the  old "live" cuts they have licensed.
Good stuff.
