VR-1 on 200 Watts
« on: 20 Jul 2011, 07:58 pm »
Hi Guys,

I am thinking of getting a new amp for my VR-1. It is rated at 200W at 8ohms. Do you think VR-1 can handle it? Is it too much power for VR-1?

Thanks,
Pipo

Power Handling: 100 watts continuous music (200 watts per channel peak).

The above is the power rating for the VR-1.  You will be fine.

Should be more than enough. I drove my VR4 Gen III's with a 200W power amp and it worked fine. Lots of power to spare. There is never enough power. That's why you got a preamp with volume control.
