It is really rare to see women to go for high end audio...in most shows you will see maybe between 5% to 10% female? Perhaps many high end audio gears are not design to appeal more to the ladies taste in music, sound or even look of the equipment??

Or a musician, a lawyer, a doctor...who knows but personally, I wish there were more women into high end audio.  It would add a little to the AV shows, for sure and new perspective and dynamic.  They are welcome anytime in my book.

Yeah, that would be kinda cool.

Mine can't stand anything that is electronic. She also couldn't care less about "hi-fi" sound. Had to spend quite a bit for a cabinet to hide the large screen TV and my video electronics by day. That's why I have my own "MAN CAVE" upstairs with all my Bryston and other audio gear. Completely on the other end of the house than the master bedroom and on a different floor. Probably not so bad for me when I want to just listen or fool around with the gear or crank it up. But would sure like to hear my good equipment when I'm around our main living area.

But for sure there is one audiophile woman in here who would represent all the women out there who share the same interest in music.

She may not love Bryston, but she is respectful of my love for audio.   :thumb:

Same here ... my wife doesn't love my Bryston gear although, she really can appreciate the sound from a high end system which is great for me.

My wife took part in many listening sessions with various brands of equipment at one point it became a side project for both of us so she's in tune with the hobby!

Great Gal :)

I can't definitively say my wife's loves Bryston due to the simple fact that I highly doubt she knows the name.  However...

She appreciates great sound quality.  She's not hung up on it by any means and it obviously means more to me than her, but she doesn't object at all to it's sound and nor does she say 'it doesn't sound any different' than anything else I've owned.

She had an odd look when I told her how much my B60 was before I bought it, and that was second hand and a great price.  I told her about the warranty and durability of Bryston gear, and she was actually pretty good about it.  She's like me in the sense that it's far better to spend a good amount more for something that's non-disposable.  Before we started dating, she spent a good sum of money for a Pioneer surround system that sounded mediocre at best, was nearly impossible to use (even for me!), and died after about 3 years.  She had the idea that all audio gear was like that.

She also appreciates having music in the living room for our 8 month old daughter.  Far better than turning the TV on, even if it's just just on passively while she plays.  She also knows that my B60 will be around and still sounding as great as it currently does when our little one grows up and leaves the nest.  My plan is to give it to her when the time is right.  That'll be both great and painful at the same time.

So...  I guess my wife loves my B60.  She just doesn't realize it.

Forgot to mention...

She also really likes my B60's stealthiness.  It's not a huge component with bright flashing lights calling attention to itself in our living room.

If I had a stack like some of you guys along the lines of monos, preamp, power supply, BDA-1, BDP-1, BCD-1, and on and on with some monster speakers, she'd be singing a different tune.  I like keeping things as simple as possible too, so it works out for both of us.

Personally, I find LEDs distracting.  Especially blue ones for some odd reason.  They look cool, but they wear on me.  No idea why.  My Rega DAC has a few red LEDs and a backlight logo, but it's ok.  Any more on that would aggravate me.

Funny thing about LEDs, flashing lights, etc...

I'd love to own a McIntosh integrated.  They just look so cool.  Wouldn't kick out my B60 for one, but if I had the space and more importantly the funds, I'd get one for a second system.  And yes, I really like the way they reproduce music.  Different than Bryston, but just as musical IMO.  Please, please no flaming.
