8 VINTAGE GE 5751 Vacuum Tubes Most Triple Mica Black Plate - $200 shipped (in USA).

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ MY TERMS AND CONDITIONS (BELOW) CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASE.

This is for a group of 8 General Electric 5751 vacuum tubes.  While I would prefer to sell these as a group, I may consider breaking them up for the right offer.

There are four different types in this group.

Tube #1 is a GE 5-Star with grey plates, a disc getter and two internal supports.  The printing is mostly there except for the date code (I can only read a “K”).  This tube comes with an original box, and I believe it is NOS (“new” old stock).

Tubes #2 and #3 are very old GE/Ken-Rad versions with the very small “5751” etched into the glass (early 1950s?).  Both tubes have black plates, triple micas and tilted rectangular getters (with the bent end).  Tube 32 has remnants of the GE trademark printing, and tube #3 seems to have remnants of Ken-Rad on it.  They are, however, the same tube type and construction.  Both tubes come in old “Standard” boxes, and are clearly USED.

Tubes #4-8 have been repackaged and rebranded as Hytron.  As best as I can tell, this was done sometime in the late 1980s.  While some of these tubes might be NOS, some clearly do not seem to be so they will be sold as USED.

Tubes #4-6 are 1950s GE made tubes with the “5751” etched in larger letters in the glass, but no etched dots underneath (mid 1950s?).  All three tubes have black plates, triple micas and tilted rectangular getters (with the bent end) like Tubes #2 and #3.

Tubes #7 and #8 are also 1950s GE made tubes with the “5751” etched in larger letters in the glass and etched dots underneath (mid-late 1950s?).  All three tubes have black plates and triple micas like Tubes #2-6, but have 2 internal supports and a horseshoe getter with two bars on the end.

I tested these my Weston 981 III (for transconductance), which I find to be very reliable for testing most small signal tubes.  The reject point (65%) on the Weston is 780, and Gm equals the meter reading.

The results are as follows:

#1   1650/1600
#2   1450/1550
#3   1150/1300
#4   1600/1500
#5   1500/1450
#6   1100/1100
#7   1375/1400
#8   1150/1200

All tubes were clean for shorts and leakage.

I would note that I was having trouble with all “Hytron” tubes getting good contact with my tube tester, so I would recommend cleaning those pins prior to use.

I can provide additional information or pictures upon request.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Please note that these tubes are being sold ‘AS IS’, but I will guarantee against a DOA tube (does not work at all).  In such event, I will refund purchase price less shipping upon return of the tubes in the same condition as sent.

I ONLY describe what I know about the tubes, and what I have tested for.  Although my tube testers tend to be reliable, YOUR TUBE TESTER MAY GIVE A DIFFERENT RESULT THAN MINE, so please take that into account.  If the information is not there, DO NOT ASSUME, and do not rely on any of YOUR assumptions.  If you need more information than provided in the listing, ASK IN ADVANCE.  If I happen to have the information, I will provide it.  If I can get the information in a reasonable way, I will get it.  If I do not call a tube NOS, consider that tube used.  I do the best I can with very limited time and capabilities.  I am an honest seller, but I am NOT a tube professional, and I am NOT in the tube business.

AS SUCH, PLEASE NOTE THAT I CANNOT GUARANTEE (OR EVEN REMOTELY PREDICT) HOW THESE TUBES WILL SOUND OR PERFORM IN YOUR EQUIPMENT.  THE TEST RESULTS ARE ONLY PROVIDED AS AN INDICATION OF TUBE PERFORMANCE IN A VERY LIMITED (AND NON-IDEAL) ENVIRONMENT.  OTHER THAN AS SET FORTH ABOVE, I EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO THESE TUBES OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE OF THEM.

Shipping in the USA via US Postal Priority Mail is included, although insurance if desired will be extra.  If you are outside the USA, or wish to use a different shipping method, contact me for a shipping quote.

Money order/cashiers check/personal check preferred, but all (other than US Postal money orders) must clear my bank first.

I also accept Paypal for convenience (but add 3% to the total for USA, and 4% to the total everywhere else).  IF YOU PAY VIA PAYPAL, HOWEVER, A CONDITION OF YOUR PAYMENT IS THAT YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO FILE A PAYPAL CLAIM OR CHARGE BACK (but do retain the right to sue me in court should you so desire).

IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE ABOVE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, DO NOT CONTACT ME AND DO NOT PURCHASE THESE TUBES.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please check my feedback on Audiogon, Videogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence.

Thought I would let a few of my listings go back to the top one more time.

If they don't sell shortly, some will end up on the infamous auction site.

I can potentially take partial trade on some of the tubes (tubes, equipment, cables, SACD, DVD-A, etc.).  My needs are very few, but I will at least listen.

Some potential tube interests include the following - 45, 45A, 46, 47, VT-52, 2A3, 2A3W/5930, 6C8G, 6F8G, 7DJ8/PCC88, 6DJ8 (Siemens), 6922, 7308, KT90, certain 12AT7 (triple mica, or military-industrial versions like 6201, 6060 or 7728, or higher end like E81CC), 7AF7, 7N7 (grey glass only), 2C50.
