Ok, my understanding is that the 800 series is made in England, while the rest of the lineup is made in China. I could be wrong...

You are correct the 800 Series are Made in the UK..........everything else is made in China.

B&W and KEF are alike in that regard.......Kef's reference(top of the line) and B&W 800's(Top of the line) are still made in england and of course are the most expensive in their lineup .

Hey Volks,
You are correct, B&W and KEF both make budget speakers in China (or Asia).  The difference between them and Classe is Classe's stuff is still priced like it's made in Canada.  If I was goigg to spend that kind of money, I'd go with a real Canadian company, Bryston.  I understand this is a Bryston circle and not the first place a person could expect to find a totally objective viewpoint but I can't see anyone looking at a comparably priced product from both companies and deciding to buy the Classe.  Classe is dead to me....unless they cut their prices in half and prove their quality hasn't suffered.

Cheers,

J

I agree, but I'm not counting on Classe to reduce the prices! :D

Not to worry.  The free market ecoonomy will sort this out.  Freedom is a blessing that Canada and the United States have in abundance.  A blessing we should not take for granted I might add.  BTW, there could come a point in time where Bryston will have to choose between off shore manufacturing and continuing as a viable business.  Let's not kid ourselves.
