HP recommendation

I have a bunch of Grado's and have enjoyed modding them and will probably keep on playing around with them but I want to try another kind.
I have a Musical Paradise MP-301MK2 tube amp and mainly use it for speakers even though it was first thought of as a headphone amp.
I like nice tight bass, not thumping, just clean deep as I can get bass thats fast and clean. The highs and mids overall ideally willl share the same tonal attributes, so basically even tone wise all around, I have several IEM's that are excellent at reproducing nuance and detail with all around great sound but lack that emotional toe tapping hard to describe thing that make's an IEM like a UE700 sound as good or better than an IEM like a Sleek  Audio SA-6 thats dead on all around and fun to listen to but lack that tiny little extra thing that gives IEM's like the UE700's which cost about 1/2 as much a bit more involving sound. I want nice say -max. $500 cost wise- full closed over the ear headphones or similar even like an open one ala HiFi man HE-4,5, I'm looking at maybe doing a custom Manufaktur version of some Beyerdynamic phones 770's maybe I really have no idea as I haven't heard anything but Grado's and some Ultrasone OZMA phones which do not do it for me anymore.
Amp will be Schiit ASGARD or VALHALLA depending on the headphone I select as I believe either will work with my current stable of Grado's. Please recommend some, tell me I'm on the right track or totally missing the right path here...Thanks guys. :thumb: I need impedance direction also, am lost about all that stuff....

Noseyears---BINGO!!! That would be ideal.....I'm thinking of saving up for the big tomali and get Audeze, I would like to try Hifiman4,5 something in that new Ortho???or planar category or is that the wrong sound signature. If I could strap some JBL's to my head that would work...

Save and get the LCD2's from Audeze and then just forget about others for now and enjoy bass that is hard to believe!!!

I sold my ASGARD and ordered a LYR for them....

I went thu a few sets of phones, sold them all once I heard the LCD2's the bass is the best, absolutley wonderful......not boomy etc...unless you have a crappy source coming into them...

All the best!

For closed headphones - Denon D5000's or D2000's are very good.  For open, the LCD2's or the Beyer T1's or even the Senn HD800's are great choices - look for them used to get a more reasonable price.  The Senn's have more of that "fast" sound signature that you like in the Grado's, the T1's are a bit more relaxed.  All of them have great bass.

The Lcd-2's are well regarded everywhere..and probably your best bet. They do a good job with acoustic, jazz, classical and rock. If you plan to enter on the ortho's world you'll need a nice headamp in your journey, since they need more power to sound good.

I decided I really enjoy headphones and it makes sense for me to have a nice headphone rig just in case I'm out of action and in a bed for sometime due to this Neuropathy.....I hope it doesn't come to that but I like headphones alot so I'm going for it.
I order a Schiit Audio- LYR amp,
and some HE-5LE Hifiman Orthodynamic headphones. Now I'm waiting........If I totally hate them it won't be hard at all to re-sell them. So whenever they come, they come......between me and you...I'm SO PUMPED!!!!!! :bounce:  :rotflmao: :smoke:

I've heard them 3 times - twice at RMAF and once at a local Head-fi meet.  Excellent choice!
