Building a Bugle phono pre
« on: 8 Jul 2011, 11:19 am »
I'm going to build a hot rodded version of the Hagerman Bugle and I'm debating what to do with the power supply board.  Do I build it all in one box or do I build them in separate boxes with an umbilical connecting cord.  If I go with option 2, what kind of cable and connectors should I use.  Finally, can somebody recommend an article that explains in plain english thoughts to consider when routing wire within an enclosure?  What type of wires to use, when to twist wire and when it doesn't matter, what wires need to be kept away from what other wires / components.

It is almost always quieter to separate the power supply.

This project is one that someone else did.  This is my first build so I'm not sure of all of the upgrades.  I'll post them as I determine what is different from a standard build.
