Up for sale is my Soundcraftsmen PCR800 amp.  It outputs 200 wpc @ 8 ohms.  I had one of the mosfets replaced a few years back so you essentially have a brand new channel as the amp has been rarely used since.  Asking $100.00 plus shipping

I always thought that those amps never got any respect, but they actually do a decent job. Lots of power, not bad detail, solid bass.  For $100 bucks, you got a good deal.

Yearly bump!  Had a change of heart about selling this amp but I really don't have much use for it so it's back on the block.  First $100.00 takes it!
 FWIW a little history:    I am  the original owner and the amp happened to purchased at the one and only CRAZY EDDIES back in 1983 -  anyone old enough from the N.Y. N.J. Ct. area certainly remembers Crazy Eddies,   I'm pretty sure I have the original owners manual as well.

I don't think it is priced too high.  If I didn't have lots of extra stuff laying around, and the need at some point before I move in a bit under 2 years from now, I'd grab something like that.  I remember Crazy Eddies.  Got my first system from them and my first separates (Phase Linear) around 1980 (when I was 5 )

This has got me wondering what these old amps sound like.  I've got one in a closet that I've used as a back up, that I think I'll pull out and compare to my modded Moscode 300 that does duty in my small room system. (Do I really need 6 backup amps sitting in the closet  ?? Maybe my wife is right when she says some of this stuff needs to go and that stereo is becoming a fetish  ).

Wow! I have to admit that I am quite impressed by my old Soundcraftsmen.  It loses out to the improved Moscode in soundstage and midrange musicality, but bass is clean, soundstage decent, a little sterile in the mids.... but for goodness sakes, he's only asking a hundred bucks! 
This is a great buy for a second system or back up amp.
I may try it in my main room and see how it handles the LS9's.

I had an old 5002 class H amp from Soundcraftsmen. Not sure if they were really focusing on the home audio environment, but certainly in commercial sound reinforcement/studio applications. Very conservative power ratings, and they truly were rated at full RMS, 20-20k @ a max. distortion level (usually .05%). Not very cosmetic, but when you needed an amp that could do the 24/7/365, these were the amps of choice.

If IIRC these can be used mono at over 400 watts.  I don't know if I'd let mine go that cheap, but 400 wpc is some major power.

There are a zillion amps out there from the 70's that were for just that, 24/7/365, UREI, CROWN, SAE, etc. that have a lot of watts and with some modern tricks can be very engaging.  I have a mid 70's BGW 500D that I bought not too long ago and it was decent.  I wanted a summertime amp that had the beef to SS drive my Magnepan's. 

The fan was way too noisy, so off it went to my Guitar Amp guy who is also into Stereo Gear.  He says for a couple of hundred that he could make it sound most good.  While it isn't as good as my Tube Amps, it is very usable and doesn't heat up the room nearly as much as a bunch of glowing tubes. 

I have no doubt that the Soundcraftsmen with a couple of tweaks could be a true charmer.

I usually have a modded Moscode 300 running in my small room system.  A few weeks back a resistor shorted like a 4th of July celebration- sparks and firecrackers stuff.  Putting in my Soundcraftsmen PCR800 noticeably improved my bass resolution, but also increased noise.  Regardless, it serves as a more than adequate back up amp.  Even though it took Ken forever to sell it, I still say these guys are worth triple his asking price.

I actually had it sold a few weeks ago to someone locally on Craigslist it just took a little time to complete the transaction. 
  I was listening to it last Friday night for about an hour and there was a good synergy between the amp and the  Bella Extreme LS I purchased recently from Shadowlight.  I could have easily lived with that combination for quite some time, and My listening room was significantly cooler running the soundcraftsman over my Eico MF-20 rebuilds,  Not nearly as good sounding though.
   Never owned a component for nearly as long as I did with this amp - almost thirty years and now it's gone.  Gotta run now starting to feel the tears coming on
