Anyone know which release is best to get on CD? Amazon has two available:
1. Polygram - remaster 1997 ($12.44)
2. Esoteric - import 2011 ($20.00)
I have never heard of Esoteric before so do not know their quality.
I am certainly willing to pay more for the import IF it is better quality.

not sure about polygram but i have turn it over and emergency on esoteric. also some soft machine and am quite happy with them

Esoteric Recordings does a great job with remastering and packaging their reissues.

I have quite a few, and with the odd exception, they a sound better than reissues from the original label.

I wouldn't hesitate to spend the extra for an Esoteric reissue.
