Decided to either reshelve or replace my existing DIY rack. A friend offered an inexpensive Sanus rack that I turned into a nice-looking 6-shelfer painted Porsche Arctic Silver, same as my car and Vandersteen 5A speakers.

This obviously is a work in process. The main side frames are hollow and are filled with lead shot; I'm in process of drilling holes in the front-back shelf supports to fill some of them. The whole thing is quite heavy and dead sounding. I'm using 4 of the original 6 shelves; the other 2 carry the preamp and discplayer and are steel straps I cut, drilled, etc. Herbies TenderFeet under the equipment absorb vibrations. The top and bottom shelves are designed to be faced, and I have some cocobollo pieces about ready to install.
