Need to get the power situation organized

Ok currently I'm utilizing the three wall outlets in my room and it looks rather rediculous having power cords stretched all over the place.  Besides the Bolder powerbar at $500 what are some less expensive options.  Obviously it needs to be clean thus hospital grade and I'd really like some sort of surge protection.  Is this possible in the $200 range?

I came across it on Audiogon and, since I'm in a similar situation, it looked like it would rectify the issue of having my power cords go into 2 sets of dual outlets on opposite sides of the walls.

Hope this helps!

Recently I replaced my duplex outlet with a hospital grade Pass Seymore.  At the same time I added a double box next to the original and put in 2 more of the same duplex outlets.  They are all on the same circuit but I don't think I can pull wires to it from the breaker box.

The Diy powerbox....hmmm a lot of techno babble, so would this give me clean power?   Why is this guy auctioning off?  I hate auctions....

Welcome to the club Matthew, I too have wires running to two outlets and have run out of space.  There is the PS Audio Juice Bar - $199.  Furutech makes one, I've never seen it, but I hear it's in the $500+ range.  The DIY referenced is at

and I found a good price on Audioquest power cables w/ power strips at

I'm kind of leaning towards one of these.

Good luck in your hunt and keep us advised.

Bolder's start at $250.

Also try B-P-T products. (balanced power technologies)

They are often sold at a discount on Agon.

Just be carefull of the load on them if running powerful amps.

I bought several cords and asked for custom configurations from Ernie.  He was excellent to work with and the product is great.  For the price of one 'retail' PC, I got about 4.  I made a DIY junction box with the 83802 cable he sells.  I definitely heard an improvement and my wiring is much neater now.

As to your power strip, I would highly recommend buying the cable from Ernie and going to an electrician's supply store for the P&S outlets and box.  There's just no major science to it.  If you need AC outlet instructions, many outlets have them included in the packaging.  If you go to a store where you can see and feel your choices, it'll make it a lot easier to figure out what you can do.  Plus, you can go to Lowes or HD and look for that molding strip to encapsulate the wiring along the baseboards.  Cheap and clean looking.

Good luck,
Carl

My only cost was
3 duplex outlets - about $25.00
a wall box - about $2.00
a wall plate - about $1.00
and about a foot of romex

I've been emailing Ernie today about this exact product. Unfortunately, Ernie told me that there is no surge protection, so I'm guessing that I'll have to look elsewhere.
