This is sold. Thanks.

For sale I have a Parasound Halo JC2 preamp with factory-installed Home Theater Bypass feature in EXCELLENT condition.

Retail price for the JC2 with HT bypass is $4500. Your cost is $2400.

I am located in SE Wisconsin, about midway between Milwaukee, WI and Chicago, IL.

This particular piece has seen very light and 'white-glove' type use from me. I probably have put about 400-500 hours of use on this. You wont find a better looking/functioning piece anywhere, including direct from an audio dealer. That is saying, this JC2 is pretty much 'As New'. It will come with the original packaging materials, including both inner and outer shipping cartons. Also included will be 2 functional remotes (see below) and the pdf owners manual.

If you are reading this, you probably already know the fantastic reviews and awards bestowed upon the the JC2. It has been a Stereophile Class A Recommended preamp for a few years running, lumped together with preamps costing 5 times as much!

Designed by John Curl, one of the most respected circuit designers of all time. Interestingly, he is also one of the men behind the design of the Grateful Dead's 'Wall of Sound' distortion-free sound system in 1974 - the largest concert sound system built at that time. The following link is an interesting interview with the man: http://www.parasound.com/pdfs/JCinterview.pdf

The JC2 is by far the quietest preamp I have ever heard or used. The details and resolution it is capable of revealing are impeccable. Back in October of 2010, I sent this JC2 in to Parasound and had the HT bypass feature installed - a feature available for $500 + shipping. At that time they checked the unit over and gave it a 100% seal of approval. The faceplate was replaced with the JC2 BP faceplate, and I was given a new upgraded remote for use with the bypass feature. The original remote is also functional, and will be provided as well. I found it useful to have the second remote, keeping one at my critical listening area, and another nearer the JC2 or at my desk.

Here is a little of what Stereophile had to say:
Quote
"The JC-2 allows music to emerge intact - with body, bloom, and dynamics, with definition and detail - from an utterly silent background. It allows your CD player and other sources to do their stuff. One more thing: the JC-2 excels at the reproduction of space. It helps the JC-1 power amps through a huge soundstage."

"My guess is that the Parasound Halo JC-2 can compete successfully against preamps, solid-state or tubed, that sell for twice the price - or more. Like the JC-1, the JC-2 is up there with the best of them, but down to earth in price."

- Sam Tellig, Stereophile, December 2007

I am an experienced Audiogon user as well, where my user name is the same. I only recently started using the feedback system there, but please feel free to check out my feedback and rest assured that I will treat this transaction with the utmost care.

I will accept money orders or checks if you can allow the time for them to clear. Please send along any questions you might have. I will be available to communicate via email or my cell phone. Some pictures are included below. You can PM me for more information.

Some photos of the actual unit:
(you might see a few reflective dust particles on the faceplate due to the camera flash and my amateurish photo skills - I see no flaws on this piece whatsoever)
