I would answer "Yes, but..."

I know my endpoint is more than one upgrade away.

But at least the worst flaws have been ironed out and it makes real music now.

I'm diggin mine!!!! I cobbled together a pretty great sound for $1000, reading everyone's posts and getting a general feel for what good quality is and who makes that type of equipment has given me a system I wouldn't be embarrassed to play for anyone here!!!!   TY AC :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I really enjoy my system but it can always get better.  I have the same opinion of my spouse :green:.

I am very happy with my setup.
I splurged last Spring and bought mostly new stuff as a retirement present to myself.
Magnepan 3.6s
Bryston 4B-SST2 and BP-26
a couple of TT etc.
So i am pretty set. Though for the fact one is NEVER done, i chose the one upgrade away.. as we are always one more upgrade.. that is the audiophile life!

I'm happy with my system, but I look forward to changes in the future which will make me even happier. The fun for me is learning and experimenting as much as sitting and listening.

After buying my first tube amplifier I'm in heaven. I'll never go back to SS amps.

Yes, very happy with mine. I'm focusing on measuring and sub setup to fine tune various multi-subs to the room and just enjoying listening to music since the Geddes Abbeys and Atma-Sphere stuff settled in here.

My system is currently sounding better than it ever has, lately I have been thinking I could actually stop here.  The proof of this is that I am starting to do asthetic things like decide what color to paint the diffusor, figure what type of fabric I will put on the other acoustic treatments currently in place.  Of course I did just complete a 2a3 amp build so my last upgrade was less than a week ago, but yes I'm done......

Best,
Ed

Yes! :D (am I under oath here?)

However, I still have a few things more to do: dedicated circuits, as right now I am using extension cords slung across the floor, which is dangerous after a long evening of beveraged enhanced listening .

Also things driven by curiosity more than the desire to change the sound: try a "better" power cord on my CDP to see if it makes a difference, even though I am not unhappy with the sound using the stock cord; replace the tube in my CDP, not because it sounds bad but it might be getting long in the tooth, though not sure, so not a tweak just a refresher as I will replace with same model tube; try a pair of Tung-Sol roundplates or black bottle tubes (Shug BTs or Psvane CV181) in my preamp just to hear what the buzz is all about with these supposed "best" sounding tubes; try a Class A, zero feedback ss amp to see if I can get 95% of the magic I am getting from my SET monoblocks just to rid myself of the care and feeding and worry (I am a serious worrier of all things :duh:) of tubes (though I doubt I will be able to find one of these with my restricted funds).

But YES! I am completely satisfied with my system. And if I had to stop ALL changes right now I would be happy with it forever.

I'm always and forever one upgrade away.  I've tried to convince myself otherwise, that I'm perfectly happy with it as it is, but no matter how good it sounds, and it sounds very, very good, there's always just...one...more...little...thing.

I think the op question is really are you an equipment person or a music person.  The music people are the ones perfectly happy with their system as soon as it sounds reasonably perfect.  Equipment people are never satisfied.  As noted above, I've tried to convince myself that I'm a music person, to no avail, I'm an equipment guy, I want my toys, that's it.

I've been happy with my system for nearly 20 yrs. I attribute that happiness to eschewing the audiophile press from my life. I only recently began thinking about upgrading because my gear is getting old and needs replacement for that reason.
