soldering iron?

I'm gonna be building crossovers on Sunday for an insignia ugrade.

Which of these should I get? The cheaper one is 25 watts. Sorry for the bad pic.

Also what should I do for insulation to wrap around the crossover? Hone depot only has big bales of the stuff.

Thanks fellas

I would recommend at least a 30 watt iron or preferably a 40 watt iron.  The latter will be much better and faster when dealing with 16 awg solid core wire.

Radio shack has some good variable power ones for 25 dollars or less, includes stand and tips

This one has been my favorite: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00927320000P

And I don't have to buy tips for it. It heats up fast too. And I like the light.  :thumb:

Ok ok, nice.

But what about insulation? I didn't ask at Home Depot but I wonder if maybe I can buy a small bag of insualtion material.

Can I use like, cotton as a substutute for the crossover wadding?

Those are pretty small speakers. Plus your upgrade kit came with 1/3rd of a sheet of No Rez. So you won't need much. You used to could buy a little bag of poly fill at Walmart for about $1.99.
