You can not go wrong dressing classic, IMO.

On a trip to New York City I got dressed up and went to my first opera (The Marriage of Figaro). People were there dressed in flannel shirts and blue jeans.

Sorry I didn't catch this on time.  I would have worn a white silk mock turtle neck with a light black summer suit -- no tie.

Seriously, I hope you didn't get dressed up.  I usually just wear my typical office attire (business casual) to the symphony.  And yes, sometimes I do feel ovedressed.

it's mostly Business Casual...with a smattereing of
nice suits & some blue jeans/ flannels.  But mostly
Business casual.

Had a blast.
Motley Crue was playing across the street.
Some of the women looked like they would have fit in at both shows.
This performance whet my appetite for more, that is for sure.
