Hi,
Sorry for the short notice but Jim Salk is planning to come to my house and bring his Veracity speakers along with some MBOW1's and a subwoofer that uses the SCC300 driver and a 500wpc amp.  I live in Naperville, IL and would like to invite some of my Audiocircle friends.  Please drop me an email if you would like to come by.

Damnit!  I was in Countryside yesterday for business!  Had I known, I could've extended the trip.  Sounds like a fun time comin' up.  You've got 1801's don't you?

Jackman,

I talked to Jim today by phone regarding the MBOW1s.  He certainly can put together great looking speakers that sound good too!  I wish I could attend you gathering but Naperville is too far from Nashville.  Please post your impressions of the MBOW1s as I am interested in them for a secondary system.

By the way, my 1801s are sounding great!.  I am currently experimenting with using them in a nearfield setting powered by a Bill Baker fully modded Jolida 502 tube integrated with Kt 88 tubes as well as nos tubes for other areas.  Since I inserted the KT 88 tubes, this amp has significantly improved from top to bottom.

Tybee,

It's good to hear you are liking hte 1801's, they are still my favorites!  I'm playing them with tubes but not exactly.  The AVA Fetvalve stuff is hybrid.  My friend Bob just picked up a tube amp and I'll probably borrow it one of these days.  There is a guy in Naperville who mods tube amps (Caryn?).  I've been meaning to give him a call to check out his stuff.  Jim is also bringing a pair of Veracity monitors.  Similar to the Ellis but with a slightly different woofer (Seas Excel but different model) and a ribbon tweeter.  I've heard them before but not in a good room.  They still sounded great but will probably sound better in my place.  Will post a bunch of stuff!

Jack

PS-Bill Baker is a great guy.  I'm loving my RAM CDP.  Best digital I have heard!  I look forward to trying the new tubes Bill is sending...

Looking forward to reading your thoughts!

Love the look of Jim's cabinets.  Been thinking of sending him some bare MDF cabinets for my Ascend Acoustics speakers for finishing.

Wish someone had his speakers in the LA area for demo.
