For me, some things just need to be black.  A grand piano, for example.  As pretty as it might be, I just can't imagine purchasing a mahogany piano.

I've discovered I'm a bit more flexible when it comes to audio components....

I think would be very interesting to start a vote on this  :D

Haven't ever seen blue LED's on a Bryston - only used to seeing them on Emotiva.

Were the blue LED's a factory installed option?  Interesting look - sweet with the black for sure.

Yep, factory fitted, just have to ask as a special order, and be as nice as possible to James

I've noticed that the amps James uses in his listening room tend to be of the silver variety with traditional rack handles.  I'm wondering what the lean is in the Bryston Exec. home camp....  As well, what is the most common finish for the audio shows - I'm thinking Bryston in silver - as is the common on the website.  Just some recent observations.

In the demo systems at CES...all silver.

Curious......If Silver comes and goes and keeps coming and going ...Isn't that a constant in and of itself?

They say once you go black you can't go back...But since I decided to go with 2 channel audio it's been silver for me.
I have 5 ..7bs in Black and the BCD-1 in black......Everything I bought after has been silver.
Both are great choices....

It's not just your eyes, it's the human eye's much higher sensitivity to blue light than other colors.  I have had to cover over any blue LEDs that I do have, so my own equipment is relaxing to look at, but I watched a movie in a semi-darkened room at a friend's house and his laser beam bright blue lights were unnverving and really distracting.

Time to resurrect some old photos. Another feature that I enjoy about an aluminium finish is that the component is much more defined and commands a more "meaty" presence. My Marantz amplifier while still very large, blends more into its surrounding area with a black finish which is great for home theatre applications.

Be well...

The silver faceplate with handles is an attractive one.

Only silver for me. But I will consider another color only if Bryston can make it's products in red gloss finish  :thumb:
