SOLD: Dodd Audio Battery Power Amp

SOLD

Purchased new in April 2010.  I haven’t put many hours on it.

At the moment, Trung has the amp.   That's because I was having some trouble with my Dodd tube buffer (relay problem, I think), and so I sent both amp and buffer back to Gary to have everything checked out.  Gary did the 6H30 upgrade to the buffer and got it working better than new.

Trung tested the amp for me, and has confirmed that it's working fine.  In fact, I think he's rather enjoying it.   But good guy that he is, he's willing to ship it to the buyer and save the hassle of extra shipping of sending it back to me.  Here's a recent photo of the amp, directly from Trung's listening room:

$750 obo.  Includes Electro-Harmonix tubes and DC power cable.

To see how I powered the battery amp, take a look at photos in my gallery:

There’s a pic of the battery and charger I used.

Why oh why weren't you selling this before I bought and built my Bottlehead amp kit last week??  I didn't realize these existed in the wild with the exception of Dannys.  This was the amp I lusted for to use with my Dodd Buffer and V1s.  Good luck with the sale but I don't think you will need it.

Best,
Ed

Ed, That's definitely unfortunate timing.  This is certainly a sweet, low-noise amp.  I think I got the last one in Gary's inventory.

Can you give me the specs on the amp, I can't find anything on Gary's website about it.

Thanks

The output power is 15wpc push-pull.

Uses two 6922 input tubes and two EL84 output per channel.

Has 4 and 8 ohm output transformer taps.

You are welcome.

There are more than a few of the battery PA's out in the wild.

Here is a picture of mine:

Well, I now have a 'sale pending' on this.  The interest in the past couple hours has me really surprised.

I'm thinking that Gary Dodd should rest and heal... and then build a few more of these!

In the unlikely event that the sale does not go through and the others in the queue balk I'll take it.
