Step one - Get the women out of the house. They won't understand.

Step two - You and the boy go buy a couple Sirloin steaks.

The ingredients:

- Two Sirloin steaks.
- Cibata bread
- Muenster cheese
- Tomato (garden fresh)
- Romaine lettuce (garden fresh)
- Grilled onions
- Garlic, three cloves
- Butter, one stick
- Bacon - The type where you get like 7 slices in a pound. We're talking epic thick friggen bacon here.
- Some potatos for mashing

In a small pan on medium heat, put a stick of butter (margerine is a no-no), the garlic, and a large spoonful of diced onion.
Stir occationally. Let this happen for a long time.

- Toast the upper cibatta bun on the BBQ grill.
- Quickly smash the "meat side" of the bun in the butter mixture. set aside for later.

Lay the bacon on a cookie sheet. Coat with freshly ground black pepper and rosemary.
Put on BBQ grill to cook.

Grill the Sirloin steak. Nothing but fresh ground black pepper and kosher salt. No fancy stuff here.

Use paper plates, mainly because by now you've screwed up enough dishes.

Mash some taters.
Put the remainder of the stick of butter (with garlic and onion) in there, along with a quick spash of milk, kosher salt, black pepper.

Pour yourself a glass of red wine.
Pour the boy a Pepsi in a frozen mug.

The rest should be self explanitory.
Enjoy.

I know I am not the only one who was hesitant to click on this thread, cause I figured there would be a DeWalt router involved somewhere in this build!

Nice sammy, you are a man after my own (rapidly slowing...) heart!

Looks like a great dinner.

Bob,

Paul

There's very little evidence saturated fat leads to "clogged" arteries.  See, eg:

http://rawfoodsos.com/2011/02/04/the-new-usda-dietary-guideline/#more-848

http://www.nytimes.com/2002/07/07/magazine/what-if-it-s-all-been-a-big-fat-lie.html

Any serious, unbiased look at this issue points out so many flaws in this theory that the theory has to be wrong.

Thanks for the complements guys!  :thumb:

No Bob, I used the D40 to take those pictures, I'm saving the D200 for the timelapses. Which, by the way, did you see the thread I started about that woodworking guy doing the time lapse?

Tina and the daughter went and did "their thing" while the boy and I did "dude things" at home. She didn't have too much to say about our feast, just that she like seeing Father and Son bond.

We have a restaurant 'round here that makes about the same burger, they call it "The Heart Attack".

No red meat for this boy for many years now, so I'll admire from afar.  We'll be doing BBQ chicken later today.

Why don't the kid get a drink?  He gotta learn someday, it's not like you're protecting his delicate sensibilities or persevering his long term health outlook after that burger, let him have a shot, I'm sure he'll agree.

Bob,

I'm with LetitRoll on the diet....but, that burger is still a beauty to behold  :thumb:

Using a ciabata roll for normally skanky bun was wonderfully OTT.

Next time you should have the full bonding experience with the 12yo son and split a 6 pack with him, too  :icon_lol:
