Shuguang s845 mk mono amplifiers
« on: 29 May 2011, 02:42 am »
I've got a very nice pair of Shuguang s845mk monoblocks I need to let go of.  I am the orignal owner and they are still under warranty.  This is the flag ship of the Shuguang Treasure amplifier series and it is a seriously good amplifier in a whole other class than their 300B treasure amp (from what I'm told).

The amp comes with Black Treasure CV-181-Z input tubes, Black Treasure 300B driver tubes and 845B power tubes.

The things are phenomenal and I wanted for nothing in terms of sound quality.  My reason for selling these is that I'm uncomfortable having these high current, hot tubbed beauties in my living room now that my son is starting to walk (and crawl faster than I can chase).  http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=86910.0

Asking $1795 obo.

I'm located at 11788 and local pickup/inspection is greatly preferred and I'll sweeten the price to keep it local.

Yeah, I'm OK.  I'm trying to take some money out of the hobby to cover some upcoming expenses.

Also, the amps really aren't a good idea in the same space as an infant.

From GrantFidelitys page:

The Shuguang Classic S845MK amp set is the highest model of the Shuguang Classic series - it's a natural progress path if you have done the lengendary 300B Single Ended Triode integrated amp and still look for more power, but do not want to sacrifice the silky mids of the 300B.

845 vacuum tube is called the 'King' of tubes by many audiophiles - it's considered to produce the pinnacle of sweet, warm yet powerful tube amplification sound.

By having the amplification in 3 separate pieces - preamp and two monoblocks, you will have the ultimate channel separation to avoid cross interferance.

Shuguang Classic S845MK tube monoblocks use Shuguang's high end Treasure 'black bottle' 300B-Z as driver and Treasure 'black bottle' 6SN7 (CV181-Z) for input stage. Both tubes have gained extremely high reputation among tube lovers since they were launched in Jan 2009 by Grant Fidelity.

The S845MK monoblocks use special hand-wound 120V transformers to give you the most stable circuit, which runs at 900V+ for the 845 tube amplification. Made-in-USA 500V rating high quality capacitors are specially sourced to avoid capacitor overheating in the long run. A soft-start circuit is also included in both monoblocks to extend your precious tube life. All these improvements are exclusively available on the Shuguang Classic amps distributed by Grant Fidelity in North America.

The S845MK monoblock circuit is a pure class “A” with high current driving the 845 tube & producing 25 watts per channel, capable of driving just about any speaker at any listening level, from soft to wall shaking with ease. The power transformer, output transformer and “choke” is housed in a solid steel cover for low noise and low EMI. The use of a high choke in this amplifier design as opposed to a high wattage resistor, ensures that there is not any residual AC ripple making its way through the circuit.

The much sought after 300B SET sound with lots of extra power when needed is a good indication of how it sounds.
