No such things.I'm very carefully with files and folders.I tried and change from 01 to 1 and same problem. Can't find the reason.Minion is the best at this.No problem at all.

That tells me it is not an MPD issue it is an interface issue.

So far this seems to be a possible explaination - because programs like itunes and the like order songs by file name last and tag data first(ie cd number, track number, names).  Mpd lists song in order by file name only.

Is the problem the meta-data?
Does it use the track number from there to sort?
I've been changing "1" to "01" etc
Also if you have two disks in a folder, you'll have two track 1's

If the physical name of the file matters then it is not reading metadata. Most players use metadata. The file names should not matter if metadata (far more useful) is being used. I love my tags, gotta have 'em.

Hi James,

Got the set at home right now, everything connected and talking to each other...But look at what the BDP-1 through the Bryston MAx interface makes of the Chandos Usb-thumbdrive we wrote about earlier:

Playing with the Ipad/Mpad app, makes no sense either, because the order is completely wrong also, be it in another way. But also completely mixed up.

The weird thing is that all software musicplayers do get the order right, as does my Marantz na7004. I'll check whether I can make a printscreen on the Ipad also.

Greetings, Marius

`cannot get the internetradio to play either, but Ill post that in the other topic.

and this is what the Ipad/Mpad makes of it:

Btw, apparently an updat has taken place, and the BDP1 itself  plays it another, wrong, way, compared to the earlier listening session.

Greetings,
Marius

Marius,
I think that the problem is associated with Pure Music.  I see that there is a file at the top "Pure Music Bookmark.pmbmf".  I have not used Pure Music but it interfaces with iTunes in some manner to determine indexing.  It runs on Apple OS X.  I don't know what the fix for you is but I think the solution has to do with that file.

Hi Tony,

No that is not it.
The file wasn't there in the beginning, and was put there by Puremusic only after I had been trying tp play the USB because of the Bryston playing it mixedup. I can delete it without a different outcome.

With the file, Audirvana still plays it all correctly, as does my mac, Itunes or my NA7004 for that matter.

grts,
Marius

Hi Marius - sounds like we will have to recommend that people not use the Chandos recordings with the BDP-1 until we can figure it out.

HI James,

Please find attached two screenprints of the same USB -(folder), one imported in Itunes, the other in the Mac Finder. Both have the right order of files. Please note also that in Mac Finder there is no CD1 / CD2 marking.

Hope this helps you to sort it out soon.

Greetings,
Marius

Thanks Marius - we are looking at this but I think it is wise to warn people that this may be an issue for them.

just to get back to the topic: the BDP1 does play gapless perfectly!

(mixes it up, but even does that gapless-ly....) :D
