Just purchased Odysee Stratos Plus: Question
« on: 25 May 2011, 11:48 am »
Just purchased this amp from audiogon. Should be arriving today. I am wondering if there are any initial startup procedures to follow? Assuming that the amp is completely broken in, how long will it take the amp to be fully "warmed up?" Thanks in advance for replies.

Hi
I am quiet new here and have been using a Stratos Extreme since a few months, I bought it used
The amp would be off for a few days since it woud be in shipping. So it would be good if you keep the amp on atleast for a day so the caps get fully charged again
This is what I was advised
Hope this helps

Thanks. Played the amp last night. After about 4 hours it really started sounding great. Am planning to just leave it always on. Am looking forward to hearing it after work this evening!

figure a day and a half to sound half way decient. Four days to be there. Most power conditioners are not able to supply enough current, so beware. I have mine going thru a conditioner, and it gets marginal at times. You really want a 20 amp outlet to be safe.

Thanks Gary. Today is day four and its sounding better and better. It may finally replace my modified (V Caps) Dyna SCA 35. Am tired of looking for deals on NOS Mullard tubes.

you should have Klaus build you power cords and speaker cables. I think you'll spend four times the price to get in that ball park. I use nothing but WBT connectors by the way. Remember to always leave the amps powered up! 24/7!
