Danny, are you still planning to design a passive crossover for the V 1 opened back tweeter to be used in the 8 " coaxial for the V 2.     I'm holding off building the crossovers if this is going to happen.  Thanks

I have had a few people interested in that but don't see me finding the time to get on that any time soon. I just have too many projects in line and not enough time.

The whole idea behind the V-2 was to offer a really low cost OB solution. If it was pushed into the $1,500 to $1,600 range then one might want to just step up to the V-1 to get that next performance jump, higher sensitivity, and servo controlled subs.

For some people, it might not be so much a cost issue as a size issue - the V2's are a lot smaller than the V1's.

Yeah, that's true.

I'll see what I can do, but it will still be awhile.

And, if the 8 inch servo drivers ever get made, then the V2's could incorporate them, have the OB tweets, and the 8" servo subs to bring the performance up quite a bit!

That pretty much sums up what I'm looking for. I don't want a large enclosure, don't need bass to 20hz, but still want detailed midrange and treble.

Is the footprint really that much bigger?  What can it be....a few inches wider and a couple higher?

My V-1s just dont seem that imposing......

Seems it would be worth the extra few inches.

Judging by the Super V's that were at RMAF.... yeah, the V2's are much more svelte.

Not to mention super-v performance for the apartment or small home dweller without the budget or space for super-v's.

Everybody secretly wants the servo subs. The v2 is a budget compromise.

Space is the main reason I purchased the V2 kit.  My 2 channel room currently is only 11 x 14 ft. Can I also play a sealed 12" servo sub along with the V2s?  I thought since it is here , it might enhance the bass  a bit.   Thanks

Wow...let the crazy begin.  People are going to jump all over this.  I so love my Rythmik 12" sub.

I have often wondered if this would happen.  The Adire Extremis would be an excellent candidate for this application.  I also wonder why there is noone taking a stab at a 10" application for small subwoofers.

Danny,

Will this be part of your alliance w/ Carnegie Acoustics, your Rythmik Audio ties, or a GR Research stand alone product ?

These SW-8-16FR's are a GR Research product. A special 7" wide servo plate amp is being made as well. The amps will be a Rythmik product. Though I might let Carnegie use them in one design.  :D

Danny, you had best be careful; those guys at Carnegie Audio are not to be trusted.

Sounds like there might be a V-3 in the works?

Can't wait to find out!

I've already thrown my hat in the ring for a V-2 tweeter 'upgrade'.  I've even offered Danny $ upfront :o, the first time he's turned down cold hard cash

The V2's are tremendous value, I find the bass and mid-range great but they would benefit from a smoother and more extended top end.

Trust me, money is not an issue.

I have a lot of design work lined up for commercial clients and individuals. I just have to get that stuff done and out the door first.

Danny, noticed you mentioned in another thread that you were getting caught up with your previous commitments.  Any chance in the near future for this upgrade?
