Phonostage? Blue Circle BC-23 or Jolida JD-9?
« on: 22 May 2011, 02:56 am »
Ok, I'm looking for a new phono stage? I acquired a tube preamp last year, a Blue Circle BC-21.1, now i'd like to up-grade my phono stage.  Till recently i've been looking for a BC-23 phono since it was made to complement my current preamp (as i have read and been told by some knowledgeable folks), however I have been fascinated with the Jolida JD-9A hybrid magic thread.

I know that any phono stage will need a 'test-run'/ 'workout' in my system before it  stays, however I would like to hear people's opinions on the Blue Circle BC-23 or the Jolida JD-9.

Thanks,

Jim

To keep all interested folks posted, I just received a Blue Circle Fon Lo Thingee + Biggie Power Supply in the mail off AudiogoN.  I opted to go with a newer Canadian made phono over the Jolida.  I made the choice based off the fact my blue circle preamp has already given me the tube 'warmth' in my system and the Fon Lo Thingee has had some great reviews.  While the blue circle thingees aren't too esthetically pleasing (unless you like gray pvc pipes), the tubes however have this 'blue circle' glow to them when they are powered on 8)

sound wise, no disappointments yet as i'm running though some test lps  :P

cheers,

Jim
