Hey guys, posting this for a friend.

Well, basically he wants to purchase one of these in mint condition or even new.

A little sidebar - he previously owned the Vendetta phono stage and has been excited to have the JC3. Since the description says the circuit design is almost identical, he just wanted to purchase one.

We went to the local dealer, who refused a discount of any kind, even though my friend wanted no money back guarantee nor audition period. Coupled with the 11% sales tax in this city, he felt more than a little taken advantage of considering Audio Advisor sells for MSRP, no sales tax, a return policy, and free shipping.

I don't want to turn this into a thread about fair retail practices, but just wanted to offer that sidebar as I was more than a little surprised when I tagged along.

Anyway, new or used is fine. I offered to post this WTB for him; I guess if nobody has one for sale he'll just order it online.

Thanks for the note. I agree it's off-topic, though certainly makes for some interesting reading. 

Honestly, I have no vested interest in that argument, and certainly am not going to get in the middle of a friend making a purchase decision. Still, JC sure has some choice words that make for quite a bit of entertainment.
