I've had this amplifier for one week and about 30 hours play.  My only one complaint is a very low hum.  Other AC members have tube rolled to EL34's and that solved the hum proplem.  Other than that this amp is a gem.  Small foot print.  So far, I can recommend this amp.

True. Some folks notice hissing when turning up volume...it seems like tube rolling fix that.
Are you considering another tube amp? what about a SS?

I'm open-minded at this point. Too many options out there, I guess. After using my phones for awhile, I've re-evaluated and decided to up the ante on how much I'm willing to invest in a headphone amp. Now the ante is at $1k - I'm even considering the Red Wine Isabellina, but I'm not gonna go that high unless I know I can either audition it first or resell it without taking a bath.

I was interested in cryoparts (Lee) Arte Forma, but I decided not to bother him after learning of his family concerns.

The HA-160 (under 1k) does a good job with the HD800's. It would be nice if you try it.  Im using it with my HD650's...it drives power hungry headphones as well.

I have had this MP-301MK2 for awhile now and I just don't see or have I heard about any other amp with tubes that sounds this good. For $250 this is a no brainer...seriously, I'm a bit over the top when describing stuff but this thing sounds excellent now that its broken in a bit, no noise, full of a lot of tube options to roll and it has great looks.

I've had my MP 301 for five weeks now.  A no brainer is dead on.  This tube amp is worth three times its price.
