Oooops! My bad!  Had to delete last post.  I wrongly confused the X7 with the PS-X800 as described here: http://danielvol4.blogspot.com/2010/07/sony-ps-x800.html, which is one of the finest audio pieces ever.  Looks like the X7 is a great piece, with a longer service life than the 800.  (The 800 may well be the most complex audio kit in Japanese audio's Golden Age.)

The PS-X7 is noted for having a carbon fiber tonearm. It's a really heavy DD table with no hollow in the plinth, and the plinth is made from some proprietary molding compound said to have vibration killing properties. It also has capacitive touch on and off buttons, and is also a semi-automatic (or automatic if you wish) table. It also has silicone type material filled footers.

Your X7 is a great example of the sweet ergos and esthetics of Japanese Golden Age gear, especially the House of Sony!  That color is so classic.  Just a new WCF head-shell alone (if such existed) would cost what that Ebay Sony is selling for!   

I've got an old Denon with nice presentation, except the finish is paper with rosewood grain image.
